HANNA'S HOMETOWN PAPER -- FREEMAN'S JOURNAL -- ENDORSES ARCURI
Utica, NY -- Last week, one of Republican Richard Hanna's hometown newspapers proudly endorsed the re-election campaign of Congressman Mike Arcuri.
Of Arcuri, the Journal wrote, "It’s fashionable to decry politicians, but politics is a profession like any other, requiring a specific set of skills – diplomacy, the ability to compromise, an even temperament and a modicum of respect for what government, at its best, can accomplish."
"In observing Mike Arcuri during his first term, it’s clear he’s a pro. He savors what he’s doing and is energized by it. In particular, his focus on the arcane area of infrastructure – roads, bridge and, heavens, water and sewer systems – is much needed. Look around: The 24th District is falling apart, as any town supervisor, village trustee or city councilperson will avow."
"I am extremely honored by this support," said Arcuri. "It has been a privledge to represent this district and I promise to continue fighting for the people of Upstate New York -- whether it's voting 22 times to cut middle class taxes, fighting against efforts to privatize Social Security, or working to provide for our veterans."
The Journal also praised Arcuri's visibility in the Otsego County community.
