ROME, N.Y. – On Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Michael Arcuri (NY-24) will address representatives from domestic copper producers and fabricators, including Revere Copper in Rome, NY, at the Copper Development Association’s annual dinner in Washington, DC.
Arcuri will highlight the importance of growing the domestic copper industry and preventing American manufacturing jobs from going overseas.
Arcuri has been a key supporter for funding the research and development of copper applications based on their antimicrobial properties which will increase demand and benefit domestic companies like Revere Copper through additional business opportunities. Industry representatives have also praised Arcuri for his efforts to fight unfair trade practices and his vote against the cap and trade bill.
The Copper Development Association was established in 1962 and is comprised of domestic and international copper producers and fabricating companies with business operations in North America. Each year, representatives from member companies convene in Washington, DC to meet with their federal representatives to seek further funding in support of the industry’s continued research with antimicrobial copper.
